Diving Deeper into AI for Marketing: Part 2 of Our Colbea Training

March 11, 2025

Table of Contents

Here’s the second part of our AI training for Colbea and the Sunspot, and what a session it was! After covering the basics in our first workshop, this follow-up delved deeper into practical applications of AI for marketing and business growth. And yes, I am aware there’s a plant in the shot… I feel like it adds a bit of depth.

I record these videos to share with those that did and did not attend, as well as to see the difference in topics covered between sessions. It will also be very interesting to see how they evolve over time with the emerging technology.

What We Covered

Custom AI Assistants for Marketing

One of the highlights was demonstrating how to create custom AI assistants trained on your business information. We walked through creating a “Marketing Manager” GPT that could:

  • Develop tailored marketing strategies based on your specific business goals
  • Generate social media content for platforms like LinkedIn and Instagram
  • Create consistent brand messaging across all your marketing channels

The best part? Once set up, these assistants remember your brand voice, audience, and objectives – no more repeating yourself every time you need content!

AI-Generated Visuals for Marketing

We also explored several tools for creating marketing visuals:

  • Ideogram: Exceptional for creating text-on-image visuals with perfect typography
  • ReCraft: Perfect for creating sets of branded images with consistent styling
  • Canva: How to combine AI-generated images with Canva for professional finishing touches

The live demo showed how you could create an entire set of branded marketing visuals in minutes, complete with colour adjustments to match your brand palette.

Building Websites with AI

Perhaps the most jaw-dropping demonstration was building a complete educational website in under 15 minutes using Bolt. We created a site for an evening class teaching marketing strategies, complete with:

  • Responsive design using brand colours (blue, green and grey)
  • Interactive elements and animations
  • Enrollment forms and functionality
  • All deployed to a temporary domain instantly

The room was genuinely amazed at how quickly a professional-looking website could be created and deployed.

Effective AI Research for Marketing

We also covered powerful research techniques using:

  • Perplexity: AI-powered search that delivers referenced results for market research
  • Claude: Excellent for structured content generation
  • Deep research tools: How to conduct comprehensive market analyses

Why This Matters for Your Business

The tools we demonstrated aren’t just technological novelties – they’re practical solutions that can save small businesses thousands in development and marketing costs. By implementing just a few of these techniques, you can:

  1. Create consistent, high-quality content in a fraction of the time
  2. Build and deploy professional websites without coding knowledge
  3. Conduct market research that would typically cost thousands
  4. Generate visuals that would normally require a graphic designer

Next Steps

The enthusiasm in the room was contagious, and many participants have already requested a follow-up session where we can build projects together. If you’re interested in joining us for “Version 2.0” where we’ll focus on building practical solutions together, please contact Lizzie at Colbea to register your interest.

The full video recording of this session will be available on this post shortly for those who want to revisit any of the techniques we covered.

Your AI Marketing Toolkit

For those who attended, remember you have access to all the tools we discussed via the link tree we shared. For those who couldn’t make it, here’s a quick reference of some key tools we covered:

  • ChatGPT
  • Claude: For content creation and marketing strategies
  • Perplexity: For AI-powered market research
  • Ideogram For marketing visuals
  • ReCraft: For marketing visuals
  • Bolt: For website creation
  • Canva: For finalising and editing materials

Remember, AI should enhance your expertise, not replace it. Your industry knowledge combined with these tools is what will truly set you apart from competitors who might be using AI in a more generic way.

Looking forward to seeing what you create!
