Process Mining
Process Mining is a data analytics technique that extracts knowledge from event logs recorded by information systems to discover, monitor, and improve business processes.
Process mining bridges the gap between traditional business process management and data mining by providing a way to analyse how processes actually work in reality, rather than how they are assumed or designed to work. It uses event data that is automatically recorded by modern information systems to create visual representations of process flows and identify bottlenecks, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
The technique employs specialised algorithms to analyse timestamp data, process steps, and other attributes from event logs to reconstruct the actual process flow. This allows organisations to gain objective insights into their operations, compare actual processes against intended processes, and make data-driven decisions for process optimisation.
